Challenge:
Transform a parking lot at the Rensselaer Technology Park into a elegant ballroom for the inaugural gala of RPI's 18th president. The attendance for this very prestigious event was expected to be 650 and included such honorary guests as our First Lady Hilary Rodham Clinton & Frederick Smith CEO of Federal Express.

) Our Solution: CPRC designed a tent layout to compliment the parking lot shape so the guests could enter the room directly from valet parking. To help create a ballroom look and feel all the tents were floored and carpeted w/ a soft gray carpet. We draped the center poles w/ burgundy fabric and installed burgundy fabric swags & brass chandeliers in the ceiling. We used par lights w/ amber gels to provide a soft warm light for the room. The dinner tables were covered with burgundy stripe linen w/ gold chivari ballroom chairs to complete this simple elegant look. The guests entered thru one of 2-20x30 entrance tents each with a brass chandelier suspended in the ceiling, into a 60x120 genesis tent for cocktails and hors d'oeuvres'. From the cocktail tent the guests entered into a 80x180 genesis tent for the keynote address and dinner. After dinner the guests were invited into the 60x120 tent for dessert & dancing to finish of this gala event.
